THE DIGEST
High Wind Warning
As of Sunday, January 5, 2025, Pasadena is experiencing pleasant weather with sunny skies and a high around 73°F (23°C). However, residents should prepare for significant changes in the coming days due to anticipated Santa Ana winds. High Wind Warning is in effect from Tuesday, January 7, 10:00 AM PST until Wednesday, January 8, 6:00 PM PST. North to northeast winds are expected to be between 30 to 45 mph, with gusts reaching 60 to 80 mph. These conditions may lead to downed trees and power lines, resulting in potential power outages. Travel could be challenging, especially for high-profile vehicles. Residents are advised to stay in the lower levels of their homes during the windstorm, avoid windows, and exercise caution when driving. Fire Weather Watch is n effect from Tuesday, January 7, 10:00 AM PST through Friday, January 10, 6:00 PM PST. The combination of strong north to northeast winds and low relative humidity increases the risk of rapid fire spread and extreme fire behavior.
Precautionary Measures:
-
Secure outdoor items that could become projectiles in strong winds.
-
Ensure emergency kits are prepared in case of power outages.
-
Stay informed about local weather conditions and heed any additional advisories from authorities.
