THE DIGEST
Celebrating Women’s History Month
Pasadena is celebrating National Women’s History Month with a lineup of inspiring events honoring the achievements and contributions of women. The festivities kick off with HERstory 2025: Mastering Money—Financial Resilience for Women, an empowering workshop aimed at equipping women with essential financial skills. Throughout the month, the city’s Public Affairs team will spotlight local women shaping Pasadena, sharing their stories on social media. The Women’s History StoryWalk at Jefferson Branch Library offers a unique way to explore women’s accomplishments through an interactive experience. Meanwhile, Behind the Blue provides an inside look at the lives of women in law enforcement, highlighting their challenges and successes. Whether you’re looking to expand your financial knowledge, be inspired by local trailblazers, or take a historical stroll, Pasadena’s Women’s History Month celebrations offer something for everyone!
Free Community Farmers’ Market Launches Today
In response to the devastating Eaton Wildfire, the AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s Food for Health program has launched a free weekly Community Farmers’ Market in Altadena. Located at Fairoaks Burger, 2560 Fair Oaks Avenue, the market operates every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, providing fresh produce and healthy staples to residents affected by the fires. Fairoaks Burger, a longstanding, woman-owned establishment, generously offered its parking lot for this initiative after the fire damaged their business and their parents’ nearby home. The market’s opening also features AHF’s Out of the Closet program distributing free clothing to fire victims.

Restaurant Spotlight
This unique craft brewery was founded by Colombian native and former sound editor Martin Quinones. The brewery specializes in creating authentic and exotic craft beers, incorporating South American ingredients such as Colombian coffee, Argentinian yerba mate, Peruvian quinoa, and Ecuadorian cacao. Their offerings include a variety of classic-style beers with innovative twists, providing patrons with unique and refreshing flavors. The taproom, which opened in 2021, serves as a communal space hosting events like comedy nights, paint classes, open mics, musical bingo, trivia, and run club meetups. My favorite? The Tamarindo Seltzer!
