THE DIGEST
⚽️ Olympic Soccer Returns to the Rose Bowl
Pasadena is getting its moment in the Olympic spotlight—again! The iconic Rose Bowl Stadium will host the men’s and women’s soccer semifinals and finals when the Games return to LA in 2028. That makes it one of just two stadiums ever to host events in three separate Olympics. From track cycling in 1932 to soccer in ’84, and now back for the beautiful game, the Rose Bowl is ready to make history (and noise) once more. Expect packed stands, epic goals, and a major tourism boost for Pasadena!
🧠 Pasadena Teen Invents Life-Saving Tech, Wins Big
Polytechnic School student Cavon Hajimiri wowed judges at the 75th Annual L.A. County Science & Engineering Fair, taking first place in the Engineering Applications category with his wearable, radar-based early warning system for pedestrians. The device is low-cost, innovative, and could one day help prevent accidents before they happen—basically Iron Man-level genius. The countywide fair drew over 1,100 students, but Cavon’s project stood out as one of the top in the Senior Division. He’s now headed to the California State Science Fair in April to show the rest of the state what Pasadena’s future engineers are made of.
