THE DIGEST
Celebrate Black History Month with Pasadena Village’s Free Community Events
Pasadena Village is hosting free events throughout February to honor Black History Month, bringing the Pasadena community together through poetry, art, and history. On Feb. 20, a poetry gathering at Washington Park Community House will celebrate African American poets, inviting guests to share or simply listen. Two virtual events follow: an interactive workshop on West African Art on Feb. 21, and a talk on William B. Gould, a Civil War Navy veteran who escaped slavery, on Feb. 28. These events are open to everyone—join in to learn, reflect, and connect. For more details and to register, visit pasadena.helpfulvillage.com.
“Head in the Clouds” Festival
88rising, in partnership with Goldenvoice, is celebrating its 10-year anniversary by hosting the “Head in the Clouds” Music & Arts Festival on May 31 and June 1, 2025, at Brookside Park near the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The festival will feature headliners G-Dragon, marking his exclusive 2025 North American festival performance, and the legendary K-pop group 2NE1. Additional performers include 4EVE, ARMNHMR, Youha, Korean R&B artist Dean, DPR Ian, and Indonesian rapper Rich Brian. Notably, Chinese rap group Higher Brothers will reunite for a special performance, and Porter Robinson is set to deliver a DJ set. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 7, at 11 a.m. via LA.HITCFestival.com, with two-day general admission passes starting at $300 and VIP options available. In collaboration with the Rose Bowl Operating Company, the festival will donate $250,000 to the Eaton Fire Relief & Recovery Fund to support local nonprofits aiding wildfire recovery efforts.
