THE DIGEST
Annual Egg Bowl Is Back!
Spring is in the air, and Pasadena’s favorite springtime tradition is bouncing back into action! Get ready to hop, skip, and jump your way to the Annual Egg Bowl at the historic Rose Bowl Stadium on Saturday, March 29, from 10 AM – 1 PM. This free, family-friendly event promises a day full of egg-citing activities that will have everyone in the community cracking a smile! Three epic egg hunts for kids ages 12 and under, happening at 10 a.m., 11 a.m., and 12 p.m. But be warned—these aren’t your average backyard hunts! With thousands of colorful eggs scattered across the Rose Bowl field. To join the hunt, register for a FREE ticket at CityOfPasadena.net/Reserve. Pasadena residents get first dibs starting Wednesday, March 12, at 12 PM, while non-residents can hop in on the action starting Friday, March 14, at 12 PM
Once the egg-citement of the hunt is over, keep the fun going at the Spring Festival! Enjoy free family-friendly activities, including games, arts and crafts, inflatable play zones, and more. Got an appetite after all that hopping around? Food will be available for purchase. Ditch the parking hassle and catch a FREE ride on Pasadena Transit Route 51 all day long. For all the details, visit RoseBowlStadium.com. In the case of moderate-to-heavy rain, the event will be canceled—so keep those bunny ears crossed for sunny skies!
Loma Alta Set to Reopen
Loma Alta Park in Altadena is set to reopen in May after extensive restoration following damage from the Eaton Fire in January 2025. Thanks to state and county efforts, funding partners, and community support, the park’s revival has been fast-tracked. New features include a Dodgers Dream Field, a renovated gym by the LA Clippers, and a new “Alta Chat” community hub. Additionally, the park will host a satellite senior center, expanded after-school and early childhood programs, summer activities, and youth job opportunities. The reopening marks a major milestone in Altadena’s recovery, providing much-needed resources and a vibrant outdoor space for residents.
